Hitron DOCSIS 3.0 24x8 wireless application gateway achieves MoCA 2.0 certification

DENVER/SAN DIEGO, USA: Hitron Technologies Americas, a global leader of residential and business DOCSIS networking devices, and Entropic, a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, announced Hitron's CGNM, the industry's first DOCSIS 3.0 24x8 Wireless Application Gateway, has achieved MoCA(R) 2.0 (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) certification.

The Hitron CGNM leverages Entropic's advanced EN2710 MoCA 2.0 solution, which transforms the in-home coaxial infrastructure into a highly-efficient and reliable whole-home entertainment network.

The CGNM brings best-in-class home entertainment networking to all MSO
subscribers by using 24 downstream channels by 8 upstream channels, Dual-Band 802.11n/802.11ac WiFi(R) and MoCA 2.0 home networking technology. By integrating MoCA 2.0 into the CGNM, Hitron is able to provide over 400 Mbps of application throughput over the in-home coax.

By being MoCA 2.0 certified, the Hitron CGNM is the highest performing wireless application gateway available today; delivering more than twice the speed of other existing gateway solutions.
