Mellanox leads 10 Gigabit Ethernet NIC market

SUNNYVALE, USA & YOKNEAM, ISRAEL: Mellanox Technologies Ltd, a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end connectivity solutions for data center servers and storage systems, announced that, according to market research firm Dell’Oro Group, the company is now the leading provider of 10 Gigabit Ethernet NICs, with 24.6 percent of total market share in Q4 2011, 4 percent higher versus closest competitor.

Mellanox’s market share is the fastest and only growing market share, demonstrating 2X increase compared to the previous quarter and nearly a 7X increase compared to Q1 of 2011. The latest data on shipments for the 10 Gigabit Ethernet market are available in the Dell'Oro Group’s Controller & Adapter Quarterly Report published this month.

Increasing bandwidth requirements, data center consolidation and virtualization are driving demand for faster interconnect solutions. Mellanox’s gains in 10 Gigabit Ethernet market share is due to significant customer acceptance of several new products launched over the course of the past year. Mellanox’s ConnectX-3 suite of 10/40GbE controllers and NICs and SwitchX-based 10/40GbE switches deliver industry-leading interconnect performance for server and storage applications in high-performance computing, enterprise data centers, Web 2.0, financial services, storage and Cloud computing environments.

“Mellanox is leading the 10GbE NIC market due to our innovative low-latency performance, the industry’s best virtualization support, and industry’s lowest power consumption,” said Eyal Waldman, chairman, president and CEO of Mellanox Technologies. “As data centers look to upgrade this year, there will be increased emphasis on interconnect performance, and Mellanox’s cost-effective, high density, low power interconnect solutions enable the best return-on-investment on end-user systems.”
