DesignArt Networks leads NLOS backhaul for 3G small cells

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL: DesignArt Networks announced successful trials and initial service deployments by several of its vendors, who are offering extremely compact SoC-based NLOS backhaul equipment. Recent publications have shown that almost 90 percent of carrier-grade NLOS backhaul equipment for 3G small cells is based on DesignArt Networks’ SoC solution.

Several vendors have concluded successful trials for initial in-service deployments, based on DesignArt’s unique SoC solutions capable of using licensed sub-6 GHz spectrum for the deployment of carrier-grade, yet flexible non-line-of-sight (NLOS) small cell backhaul solutions.

“Operators have clearly expressed their preference for easy-to-install, carrier-grade, low-cost wireless backhaul to facilitate flexible small cell deployments in any location,” said Joachim Hallwachs, VP Marketing of DesignArt Networks. “The availability of high-capacity point-to-multipoint (PmP) NLOS solutions for backhaul in licensed bands solves a major HetNet deployment issue by allowing operators to extend their existing macro cell infrastructure and to simply connect multiple 3G small cells using a flexible, carrier-grade solution with the lowest deployment cost.”
