SGS relies again on global network by Reliance Globalcom

NEU-ISENBURG, GERMANY: Reliance Globalcom, a leading global provider of managed network and application delivery services for multinational enterprises, carriers and service providers, has re-signed a five year agreement with Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) for its global Wide Area Network (WAN) and global Internet Security Services. SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company.

SGS were looking to improve security and enable high-bandwidth voice applications to be run over their global wide area network WAN, while reducing network management costs.

Reliance Globalcom’s Hybrid VNO approach enabled a new fully redundant hybrid network using Ethernet Layer 2, MPLS, VPLS and IPSec technologies to connect 745 sites in 102 countries across six continents, using Reliance core infrastructure and multiple local carriers.

Reliance Globalcom’s global infrastructure provides dynamic bandwidth scaling allowing SGS to match their exact requirements to business needs, and with the best-of-breed local service providers and technologies SGS reduced network costs while increasing availability and performance.

The redesign of the network also includes a global security solution, procured using tailored providers and managed centrally, with local, regional and global security gateways, consisting of Firewall, Intrusion Detection Prevention and Antivirus.
