Lightwave Logic files sixth patent application

NEWARK, USA: Lightwave Logic Inc., a technology company focused on the development of the 'Next Generation Electro-Optic Polymer Material Platform' for applications in high speed fiber-optic telecom and optical computing, announced the filing of its sixth patent application directed to its 'Next Generation Electro-Optic Material Platform.'

Lightwave Logic filed a provisional US patent application directed to stable free radical Chromophores for use in non-linear optical applications. These new polymeric electro-optic materials have enormous potential in spatial light modulation and all-optical-signal processing (light switching light).

The improved Chromophore architectures should exhibit long-term thermal, chemical and photochemical stability as exhibited by the Company's other electro-optic materials.
"This new application extends the range of our materials base and incorporates new analytical information learned in collaboration with several university groups.

It provides us with a greater understanding of the base technology supporting our proprietary materials," said David Eaton, CTO of Lightwave Logic. "We believe this new application can lead to a new class of materials for optical applications."

"Powered by Lightwave Logic"
Lightwave Logic, Inc. is a development stage company that is producing prototype electro-optic demonstration devices and is moving toward commercialization of its high-activity, high-stability organic polymers for applications in electro-optical device markets.

Electro-optical devices convert data from electric signals into optical signals for use in high-speed fiber-optic telecommunications systems and optical computers.
