Mobile operator managed mobility services $100 nillion market opportunity in US and Western Europe

USA: SpiderCloud Wireless Inc., a leading provider of scalable small cell Enterprise Radio Access Network (E-RAN) systems to mobile operators, announced the results of a research study by Exact Ventures that demonstrate a $100 billion emerging market opportunity for mobile operators in providing mobility services for enterprise customers.

The research shows that enterprises can save 35 percent a year by adopting such operator-delivered managed and hosted services.

SpiderCloud worked with Exact Ventures, an analyst firm focused on technology market intelligence, to undertake a detailed market analysis of the managed mobility services opportunity for enterprise businesses of 100 to 4999 employees in the United States and European Union.

The resulting report, “Enterprise Mobility Services: Market Opportunity for Mobile Service Providers”, uncovers a $100 billion market opportunity for mobile operators in Enterprise Mobility Services, driven by key trends in computing and telecom: mobility and the accompanying need for Bring-your-own-device (BYOD) policies and control; cloud computing; and the emergence of enterprise small cell systems that enable telecommunications services beyond coverage and capacity.

The report looks at how mobile operators can leverage the mobile ecosystem and small cell systems to enable in-building coverage, capacity and services.  The findings show that enterprise customers can save over $160 billion in capital expenditure (CapEx) by adopting operator-delivered hosted and managed services for mobility, unified communications (UC), secure access to applications, device management and integration of cloud and telephony (PBX), as well as new context-aware and location-based services.

According to the research by Exact Ventures, moving to enterprise mobility services provided by a mobile operator would save an enterprise the equivalent of $264 per user annually – 35 percent net saving compared to an equivalent CapEx investment.
