Bluetooth SIG announces Bluetooth World wireless conference

Bluetooth World 2013, USA: The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) welcomes industry experts, wireless entrepreneurs, app developers and gadget makers, media and analysts along with current and prospective Bluetooth SIG members to Bluetooth World 2013 in Shanghai, China from April 10 to 11.

Building upon the rapid adoption of Bluetooth Smart Ready and Smart in 2012, that drove more than two billion Bluetooth shipments, the SIG is bringing together the best industry minds in this must-attend wireless conference where participants will see the latest Bluetooth technology innovations, market trends, and have the opportunity to attend detailed technical and implementation training.

“The Bluetooth revolution is underway. Every day, we’re seeing an abundance of ordinary objects made smart with Bluetooth, redefining the way consumers interact with their technology,” said Mark Powell, Bluetooth SIG executive director. “Bluetooth World has been specifically designed to support and encourage the wave of innovation from developers and our members, showcasing recent success stories, providing expert insights into how to use the technology as well as thought-provoking insights for the future. This is a can’t-miss event for anyone interested in the future of wireless technology.”

This year’s Bluetooth World Conference will kickoff with a keynote address by renowned technology expert and author, Robert Scoble.

“The new world of technology is coming as we enter The Age of Context with cloud-based databases, contextual SDKs, social data maturation, open APIs and of course the proliferation of wearable devices and the always–connected sensor,” said Scoble. “Wireless technologies, like Bluetooth, will play an influential role in impacting the connections and context of the trends were seeing and that will continue to progress.”
