Interop to provide hosted CMAS solution to MetroPCS

FORT MYERS, USA: Interop Technologies, a provider of core wireless solutions for messaging, mobile device management, and connectivity gateways, announced that MetroPCS Communications, Inc. has selected Interop’s hosted Commercial Mobile Service Provider (CMSP) Gateway. The Interop solution provides an affordable way for MetroPCS to deliver Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) alert messages to subscribers with CMAS-compatible handsets.

Interop’s solution, which has been designated a Certified CMSP Gateway Host by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), ensures compliance with CMAS standards in time for the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) implementation deadline of April 2012. Certification eliminates the need for operators to spend time and resources conducting testing with FEMA and ensures that they can deliver Presidential, Imminent Threat, and AMBER alerts as soon as they become available.

“Interop’s hosted CMSP Gateway minimizes the overall investment required to comply with the voluntary CMAS initiative,” said Tony Mijares, senior VP of Global Sales and Distribution, Interop Technologies. "We are pleased to enable MetroPCS to enhance the safety of its subscribers."
