CAMBRIDGE, UK & SAN JOSE, USA: CSR plc announced that its aptX Bluetooth audio codec will be supported in the upcoming NTT DoCoMo Android-based AQUOS SH-01D smartphone series for the Japanese market.
CSR’s aptX audio compression technology is the de-facto standard for delivering the very high-quality end-user audio experience over Bluetooth. The AQUOS SH-01D series is being made available from NTT DoCoMo, one of Japan's largest providers of mobile voice, data and multimedia.
“Sharp Corp. is not only the largest maker of mobile phones in Japan; it has established a very strong reputation among consumers for devices that offer the very best feature set and user experience,” said Takayuki Yokoyama, president, CSR Japan. “Our success in helping Sharp Corporation deliver the first aptX-enabled Android phone in Japan is a clear signal that CSR’s products are becoming the standard for Bluetooth-based high-quality audio.”
CSR aptX audio compression technology overcomes a number of bandwidth hurdles within standard Bluetooth technology and delivers CD-quality stereo audio over wireless Bluetooth connections. CSR Bluetooth technology enables many of the world’s most popular consumer electronic communication and entertainment products.
