WAKEFIELD, USA: Comverse has the largest global market share for providing Multimedia Messaging Centers (MMSC) to global telecom carriers, says ABI Research, a leading market intelligence company specializing in global connectivity and emerging technology.
Comverse also is one of the two leading companies among SMS text messaging (SMSC) providers, according to the research report, “Mobile Messaging Services: SMS, MMS, Mobile Email, and Mobile IM,” which was released recently.
“Independent validation of our leadership position in multimedia messaging is further evidence that our innovative MMS solutions are recognized within the telecom industry for superior performance and are replacing legacy MMSC installations around the world,” said Dror Bin, President of Global Sales at Comverse, the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer management, and IP communications.
”These research findings indicate that operators upgrading their MMS systems to unleash the value of their network prefer a field-proven, future-ready solution that enhances the messaging offering and flexibly caters to operator-specific needs,” Bin said.
According to the ABI report, mobile messaging will deliver more than $147 billion in revenues to mobile operators, and traffic will grow just under 10 percent annually for the next five years.
“Key reasons driving carriers to replace legacy MMS solutions include growth in the use of MMS messages and its potential appeal as a cost-effective channel for advertisers,” said Jonathan Collins, Principal Analyst at ABI Research.
Besides its leadership positions in the MMS and SMS areas, Comverse is ranked among the top providers of other mobile messaging services. For many years, Comverse has been the global voicemail market leader and also has enabled well in excess of half of the commercial visual voicemail deployments worldwide.
“A major player in the mobile messaging space, Comverse provides messaging solutions across SMS, MMS, instant messaging, voicemail, and unified messaging through fixed and mobile networks,” Collins said. “There are few regions of the world where Comverse is not substantially represented within the infrastructure of mobile operators.“
Comverse MMSC and SMSC are part of the Comverse Messaging HUB, a comprehensive platform addressing current and future messaging needs with a rich set of services, such as smart personalization services, Web converged messaging inbox, sponsored messaging capabilities and enhanced messaging solutions. Its flexible cost-effective evolution path extends the operator’s offering towards next-generation RCS and IP converged messaging.
Comverse Messaging HUB is a key component of Comverse HUB Value-Added Services, spanning voice, messaging, mobile Internet and mobile advertising. Comverse HUB is a synergistic framework that enables service providers to maximize their business performance and augment their position in the market.
