Comtech wins advanced satellite modem order for Asian cellular operator

MELVILLE, USA: Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., received a satellite modem order for approximately $1 million. The equipment will support satellite-based cellular backhaul in the Asia region.

The order was for the CDM-625, an Advanced Satellite Modem, that builds on Comtech EF Data's legacy of providing the most efficient satellite modems. It is the first modem to combine advanced Forward Error Correction with the revolutionary DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier bandwidth compression, allowing for maximum savings under all conditions.

"Mobile operators globally rely on the multi-dimensional optimization provided by Comtech's solutions to minimize operating and capital expenses, and to maximize satellite throughput for their satellite-based infrastructure," said Fred Kornberg, President and CEO, Comtech Telecommunications Corp.
