ANAHEIM, USA: ZyXEL Communications Inc. has announced the MWR222 Mobile Wireless Router, a portable device that offers individuals and business travelers high-speed Internet access anywhere. The MWR222 is a 2010 CES Innovations Honoree in the Home Networking category.
The MWR222 is a rugged, pocket-sized, 11n-compatible portable Wi-Fi router that users can take with them wherever they go. It can support fixed (DSL/Cable) and mobile broadband (3G/4G) connectivity for a true, always-on, anywhere connection.
The MWR222 is Ideal for travelers in hotels, airport and for in-vehicle Wi-Fi sharing. It is also great as a hotspot access for trade shows, seminars, business demos, camping and outdoor social gatherings.
Broadband fail-over protection with 3G/4G support and rechargeable battery back-up that can last for more than two hours make the MWR222 perfect for uninterrupted Internet access. It can even take advantage of faster next generation mobile broadband technology, such as 4G (WiMAX/LTE), as it becomes widely available.
It is also scalable as being a true Wi-Fi router for overcoming limitations in connecting more than five simultaneous users. The MWR222 can also monitor the bandwidth usage and send alerts when the bandwidth quota is reached to help users avoid pricey overage fees.
“The MWR222 is the logical next step in high-performance, personal router technology,” said Dana Patrick, director of North American channels for ZyXEL. “Offering the ultimate in mobility for individuals, families or small workgroups, the MWR222 packs today’s best-performing mobile broadband technology into an elegant, portable and affordable package.”
