Broadband World Forum 2011, PARIS, FRANCE: Celeno Communications, a leading provider of semiconductors and software for multimedia Wi-Fi home networking applications, and LEA, a leading provider of broadband access and home networking equipment, announced a partnership to fulfill the need for wireless distribution of HD IPTV video services and high-speed data within and throughout subscribers’ homes with wire-like quality. Celeno’s CL1830 3x3 450Mbps beam-forming MIMO Wi-Fi technology will power LEA’s new Wi-Fi video bridge product line, which will be available this December.
“Service providers face significant challenges in delivering IPTV and high-speed data streams from the customer’s broadband connection to a multitude of display devices throughout the home,” said Gilad Rozen, CEO and president of Celeno. “LEA’s 5GHz video bridges are designed to address this need. By leveraging Celeno’s technology and the less-interfered 5GHz spectrum, the solution will deliver whole-home robust home networks with the expected quality of service.”
“We have partnered with Celeno to deliver our service provider customers best-in-class Wi-Fi technology,” said Patrice Fryson, CEO of LEA. “This new range of products will perfectly complement our large existing PLC offer, proposing today to operators and retail, a complete broadband Home Networking solutions. These devices will help to expand service reach in the home - from installed gateways to multiple set-top boxes and devices at any location in the home.”
Celeno’s Wi-Fi technology, powered by its OptimizAIR technology suite, has been designed from the ground up to meet the stringent requirements of carrier-grade video streaming. High throughput, long range, bounded jitter, low packet drops, interference resiliency, and remote management are just some of the properties built into the solution to satisfy service providers’ needs. The CL1830 is a 3x3 450Mbps beam-forming MIMO high-speed dual-band Wi-Fi solution. It combines scheduled MAC, traffic shaping, and admission control to achieve the video QoS expected by consumers.
The LEA video bridge includes 4 Ethernet LAN connectors, 450Mbps video-grade Wi-Fi performance, WPS secured association, interference detection and avoidance, fast-channel change and TR-069 remote management.
