Netronome to showcase 100 Gbps network flow processing solutions

Interop Las Vegas 2011, LAS VEGAS, USA: Netronome, the leading developer of network flow processors, announced the company will be exhibiting at Interop Las Vegas, taking place May 8-12 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Netronome’s exhibit will feature product demonstrations scaling security applications to 100 Gbps, over 10 and 40 Gigabit Ethernet. The demonstrations in booth 2261 will include Intrusion Detection, Intrusion Prevention, SSL Inspection, Data Loss Prevention and Network Forensics.

“OEM manufacturers are rapidly evolving their product designs to account for the new performance and latency requirements of 10 and 40 Gigabit Ethernet, while simultaneously providing the deepest level of inspection and security” said Jarrod Siket, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Netronome. “To meet these challenges many are basing their architecture on network flow processors. As the pioneer of network flow processing, we’re excited to demonstrate these leading applications for Interop attendees.”

The Netronome products in the demonstrations include:

Netronome Flow Processor (NFP-3240) – With 40 cores operating at 1.4 GHz, the NFP‐3240 brings breakthrough performance to a broad range of demanding network, security and content processing products used in 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps networks. It is the industry’s only processor specifically designed for tight coupling with embedded multicore Intel processors, and is the only line of processors backward-compatible with the market-leading Intel IXP28XX. Netronome’s processors are supported by comprehensive tools and a broad ecosystem of premier partners and suppliers.

Netronome Flow Engine (NFE) – The NFE family of PCIe network interface cards deliver line-rate packet capture for inline applications requiring zero packet loss and low latency. The NFE acceleration cards offer 1 and 10 Gbps interfaces and feature deep packet inspection and security processing provided by Netronome’s NFPs. The NFEs tightly couple with multicore x86 processors over a PCIe 2.0 interface with enhanced IOV support.

Netronome's Network Flow Processing Platforms (NFPP) – 1U and 2U production-ready reference platforms based on Intel Xeon 5600 processors, are accelerated with Netronome NFPs to deliver up to 100 Gbps of programmable L2-L7 performance. They are purpose-built for network and security applications that require line-rate throughput, low latency and high availability from standard IA/x86 systems. The NFPP family provides a heterogeneous multicore processing architecture with independent layers of workload-optimized packet, flow, security and application processing to dramatically increase network performance.

Netronome SSL Inspector – The Netronome SSL Inspector is the industry's highest-performance transparent proxy providing security appliances with access to the decrypted plaintext of SSL- encrypted flows. The SSL Inspector provides visibility to cyber threats hidden inside SSL flows that previously could not be examined by security appliances. The SSL Inspector supports networks up to 10 Gbps and is available to OEM’s, resellers and customers today.
