DSP Group and ProSyst announce joint DECT ULE/OSGi solution for smart home and smart energy market

USA: DSP Group and ProSyst, a leading provider of OSGi and open standards-based M2M middleware for Smart Home, Smart Energy and Automotive Telematics, have jointly integrated DECT Ultra Low Energy (ULE) home security, control and automation solutions into ProSyst's mBS OSGi technology, thus providing a simple encapsulated gateway software environment with DECT ULE support.

This solution dramatically reduces time to market and eases integration of DECT ULE capabilities for operators and service providers.

As part of this collaboration, DSP Group provided the semiconductor system, consisting of the DECT ULE gateway module powered by DSP Group's DECT baseband IC and a full DECT ULE stack. This system was integrated with ProSyst's mBS OSGi technology, providing local management and easy connectivity to the service provider.

The devices built around DSP Group's DECT ULE IC and software stack are aligned with the latest DECT ULE and upper layer protocol standard draft.

ProSyst's mBS OSGi design enables fast time to market, and minimizes the R&D effort required for the integration of DECT ULE based Smart Home and Smart Energy features into the gateways. The resulting system, the world's first DECT ULE/OSGi solution, is currently showcased at the CES 2013 exhibition in Las Vegas.
