SkyCross teams with Verizon and leading OEMs to enable 4G LTE devices

CES 2012, LAS VEGAS, BASKING RIDGE & VIERA, USA: Verizon Wireless and SkyCross, a global RF solutions and antenna technology company have worked together to incorporate SkyCross 4G LTE antenna modules using SkyCross’s patented iMAT antenna technology into products from Seagate Technologies, Ambient Corp. and Consert. All of these products will be demonstrated live on the Verizon 4G LTE network in the network operator’s booth (Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall, Booth #30259).

“For the second consecutive year, we are pleased to collaborate with Verizon Wireless and leading equipment suppliers to demonstrate new wireless products at CES using SkyCross advanced antenna technology,” said Charles Riggle, SkyCross vice president of marketing and business development. “SkyCross antenna modules incorporating iMAT and State-Tuned iMAT antenna technology are the standard for high performance and small size in advanced, multiband, 4G LTE devices.”

SkyCross antenna modules incorporating iMAT technology enable a single, small, embedded antenna to behave like multiple antennas and deliver up to 2.5 times increased throughput in 4G LTE wireless devices versus similar devices using conventional antennas. SkyCross tunable antenna modules leverage the company’s patented State-Tuned iMAT technology and support up to 12 frequency bands critical to 4G LTE band aggregation and global roaming while simultaneously reducing antenna size and increasing device throughput.

SkyCross antenna modules are crucial for 4G LTE connectivity in the following devices demonstrated in the Verizon booth at CES: the Seagate 4G LTE mobile wireless storage device; the award-winning Ambient smart grid communications node; and the Consert Virtual Peak Plant Solution (VPP), providing smart meter infrastructure for measurable and verifiable load resource management in real time.
