CAMBRIDGE, UK: ip.access, the pioneering developer of small cell mobile technology, announced a further strengthening of its management team.

The company confirmed that Gwyn Williams will join this month as VP of Worldwide Customer Operations. In his new role, Williams will assume responsibility and leadership for the company’s global professional services and customer support organisations.

Welcoming Williams, Rob Jones, senior VP, Worldwide Sales, Support & Services, said: “Gwyn brings a wealth of relevant experience to the process of delivering, developing and serving global customers. He is used to both managing complex technical integration and ensuring consistency of supply and first class support. Our established customer operations team already supports more than 60 operators worldwide, and Gwyn's expertise will be invaluable as we deliver larger and more complex projects to quicker timescales in today's maturing small cell market.”

Prior to joining ip.access, Williams was director for Worldwide Service Product Management for Tekelec. He has also held senior customer and professional services support roles across Europe with Tektronix and SignalSoft as well as managing operator relationships and technology integration with Lucent Technologies.

“As the size and scale of our installed base continues to grow, Gwyn’s in-depth understanding of how to solve the technical and business challenges our customers are facing, will be invaluable to our service delivery, our customer support and our success going forward,” added Jones.

With more than 500,000 installed 3G public and private access femtocells and picocells worldwide, ip.access is an acknowledged leader in the small cell market. The company's end-to-end nano3G solution includes small cell Access Points, gateways and network management systems, and enables 3G and future 4G small cells to be added to existing 2G and 3G small cell networks. Its OysterCatcher service allows both remote diagnostics and fine tuning to improve performance of deployed small cells.
