Quantenna 802.11n 4x4 MIMO solution wins multiple awards

2012 International CES, FREMONT, USA: Quantenna Communications Inc., a leader in ultra-reliable Wi-Fi networking for whole-home entertainment, announced that its QHS710 802.11n 4x4 MIMO chipset has won two 2012 TV Innovation Awards in both the semiconductor and home networking categories, in addition to the Electronic Products 2011 Product of the Year Award.

Quantenna's leading high performance solution allows service providers to reliably distribute HD and 3D video over Wi-Fi in any size home, meeting the most stringent video quality requirements. The solution delivers unmatched reliability and performance over Wi-Fi for applications where perfect signal quality matters, anywhere in the home at more than 200 feet, including through concrete walls.

“It’s an honor to have been selected for these awards, particularly by independent experts in the industry, said Dr. Sam Heidari, CEO, Quantenna. “Our 802.11n product is truly changing the way service providers deploy multimedia TV in the home. We are excited to be leading this revolution of Wi-Fi to enable consumers to watch and share video content wirelessly in ways that were never possible before.”

Now in its third year, the 2012 TV Innovation Awards, administered by IMS Research, have grown to become one of the premier endorsements of innovation in television. According to its president, Ian Weightman, “One of the main reasons that the TV Innovation Awards have become so sought-after is that each entry is judged on a completely level playing field. This ensures that companies, ranging from the biggest names in consumer electronics to innovative start-ups can measure objectively how their products stack-up against those of their competitors.”

In addition to winning multiple 2012 TV Innovation Awards, Quantenna’s QHS710 802.11n 4x4 MIMO chipset was honored with Electronic Products’ “Product of the Year” Award. The editors of Electronic Products — a leading trade publication for electronic design engineers — evaluated thousands of products launched in 2011.

The winning products were selected on the basis of innovative design, significant advancement in technology or application and substantial achievement in price and performance. 2011 marks the 36th annual Electronic Products’ “Product of the Year” Awards, which recognizes the best products in the industry.

Unleashing a new realm of wireless video distribution that promises to transform the way millions of people transmit, share, and watch HDTV in the home, the Quantenna QHS710 solution was offered as the first fully compliant 802.11n chipset with 4x4 MIMO, dynamic digital beamforming, and support for four spatial streams with unequal modulation. These technologies when combined enable up to 600 Mbps PHY data rates and best-in-class throughout and performance.
