Allied Telesis launches GS950 PS series of WebSmart edge switches

NRF Loss Prevention and Expo 2013, USA: Allied Telesis announced the launch of the GS950 PS Series of WebSmart network switches with Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), providing connectivity with security cameras, VoIP phones, RFID readers and wireless access points—all valuable criteria in the retail and IP surveillance and security markets.

Integrating the simplicity of unmanaged switches with the performance and reliability of managed switches, this series offers a value-driven, yet secure and reliable, solution for users who wish to integrate management at the edge of their networks. Allied Telesis GS950 PS switches offer user-friendly, web-based management, requiring minimum configuration while enabling security within the network solution.

The GS950 PS Series is available in configurations of 8-, 16- and 48-port PoE+ (AT-GS950/10PS, AT-GS950/16PS and AT-GS950/48PS). All three switches support PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) and are capable of delivering up to 30W per port. 8-port models offer two SFP combo ports, while 16- and 48-port models include four SFP combo ports, which is also an advantage when fiber is required; such as in Digital Video Surveillance (DVS) solutions.

With the introduction of this latest series of products, Allied Telesis becomes one of a select few companies able to provide WebSmart 16-port with PoE+ and WebSmart Gigabit 48-port with PoE+ switches. In addition, these products also enable twice the number of MAC addresses in comparison to other similar products on the market, meeting the needs of larger networks.
