MUMBAI, INDIA: ip.access, the multi-award winning UK-based developer of picocell and femtocell solutions, has been chosen by Bharti Airtel to supply its nanoGSM® picocells for deployment across India.
Bharti Airtel is a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 18 countries across Asia and Africa and over 100 million mobile subscribers. After an extensive test and trial process, Airtel is deploying the ip.access nanoGSM picocell to deliver valuable extra mobile network coverage and capacity to its business customers, exactly where needed on their premises.
This means that Airtel’s business customers can make use of faster and more dependable voice and data services, wherever they are on-site.
The ip.access nanoGSM picocell is the market-leading solution for delivering enhanced in-building GSM services, which can be quickly and easily deployed for high-value enterprise customers. It has lower capital and operating costs than other in-building coverage solutions, with all the backhaul traffic efficiently carried over an existing IP connection.
“Our new agreement with Bharti Airtel is a massive achievement for ip.access, which puts us at the heart of one of the world’s fastest-growing and most dynamic cellular markets,” said ip.access CEO Stephen Mallinson.
“This new deal underscores our global leadership in the market for in-building cell infrastructure, working with the world’s leading mobile operators to improve network performance and deliver high-quality services to subscribers.”
