SUZHOU, CHINA: Centec Networks, a leading innovator of carrier-grade IP/Ethernet switching silicon and advanced ODM/OEM system solutions, announced that four OEMs from Korea, Brazil and China have adopted Centec's TransWarp series of silicon for new design, targeting for Packet Transport Platforms (PTN). The initial purchase orders have been delivered with the potential to generate significant revenue in second half 2012.
"Advanced features, competitive pricing and superb turnkey solutions and support are key factors behind these design wins," said by Tao Gu, CTO of Centec Networks. "Our industry-leading hardware-based MPLS-TP turnkey solution released this July brought additional value to those optical transport equipment vendors to develop MPLS-TP-based packet transport products with shorter time to market and minimized R&D risks."
This April, Centec introduced its TransWarp Family of Ethernet Switching Silicon to the market and quickly attracted OEMs' interests. The silicon integrates 100Gbps L2/L3/MPLS/MPLS-TP-based switching capacity, advanced traffic management and the latest Carrier Ethernet and Packet Transport features, such as hardware-based OAM, automatic protection switching (APS), 1588v2 and SyncE.
In July, Centec added Clifton MPLS-TP OAM FPGA into the TransWarp Family as a complementary solution for packet transport, supporting both Y.1731-based and BFD-based MPLS-TP OAM. To further help OEMs cut time to market and development costs, Centec also offers the MPLS-TP turnkey solution.
"We realize we are a new kid on the block and appreciate customers' vision and trust in Centec, for which we work harder in creating additional value such as advanced turnkey solutions and better engineering support, on top of competitive and differentiated products," said by James Sun, CEO of Centec Networks. "We are very glad to see our strategy and efforts in packet transport win customers' trust and turn into real opportunities quickly. This year, we have expanded our market reach in global markets as well as the domestic market in China with expectations for more design wins in the near feature."
