BANGALORE, INDIA: MetroNet announced that they have qualified and selected Tejas Networks Ltd, a leader in next-generation optical networking products as their Optical transport vendor of choice to service their complex next generation transmission topologies.
Deep Kumar Muthu, Director International Sales, Tejas Networks, said: “Tejas Networks has an end to end transmission portfolio, that includes next-generation SDH/SONET as well as Carrier Ethernet products that enable telecom carriers to converge traditional voice-based transmission networks with the new data-dominated networks.
“Carriers can reduce their Capex, Opex and substantially increase speed of implementing new service delivery with Tejas solutions. A Red Herring Global 100 company, Tejas is a leader in the highly-competitive Indian telecom market and has achieved significant global success with its products being used in more than 50 countries around the world. We are delighted with the opportunity to work with MetroNet and look forward to delivering significant value addition to their next-generation network transformation.”
Miguel Angel Fernández, MetroNet’s CEO, added: “MetroNet conducted an in-depth evaluation of their transmission platform, on which technology was put under numerous tests of operation. As MetroNet has a very highly deployed transmission network operating since 1999, we were pleasantly surprised by the simplicity with which Tejas could integrate into our existing facilities in terms of management. This, together with the high cost effectiveness and the capability to integrate data services on the same platform, made the acquisition and integration of Tejas Networks an effortless decision.
“In addition to that, MetroNet could also evaluate the support we would get from Tejas Networks. The professionalism of the Tejas team gave us all the confidence we needed to take the final decision of deploying their technology with the same high level of quality to which our clients are accustomed.”
