Zylog proposes to completely Wi-Fi Chennai!

CHENNAI, INDIA: Wi-Fi is a superior technology that enables higher speeds and mobility than conventional broadband and is absolutely hassle free. Your laptops or mobiles are enabled with inbuilt Wi-Fi signal receivers that connect you to the internet.

If your device or your home PC is not Wi-Fi enabled, a small wireless USB dongle can connect you to Wi5 Wireless Broadband, one of the fastest ways to stay connected.

Zylog Systems, a Chennai based IT company, is proposing to make the city wifi-ed and in process they intend to use selective building in the city to place intelligent wi-fi nodes on the roof top.

This will ensure that the residents of the Building will get a lifelong Wi-fi access. Zylog will place these tiny nodes which occupy only about 2-3sq.ft. space at the terrace and the owner can get lifetime high speed connectivity for free.

The nodes will be placed by Zylog at their own cost, with the prior permission of the owner. These nodes consume less than 30w of power and the installations take only a few hours. No digging, no breaking no hassles, no expense and a lifetime free high speed Internet at your door step with a monthly pay back of Rs. 500 for electricity charges.

In the first phase to make the city wi-fi, Zylog has started installation of nodes in Adyar, Besant Nagar and Ashok Nagar. Interested Building associations and residents in these areas can approach Zylog at (to set up this simple device at their roof top and in-turn contribute to make the Chennai a wifi city.

The company has already installed wireless Internet connectivity in Chennai Corp. (The Rippon Building) as a trial run to make the heritage building Wi-Fi enabled and is also looking at some rail projects in the near future.
