Starent Networks' shareholders approve merger agreement with Cisco Systems

TEWKSBURY, USA: Starent Networks Corp., a leading provider of infrastructure solutions that enable mobile operators to deliver multimedia services, announced that at its special meeting of shareholders held on Dec. 11, 2009 in Boston, its shareholders approved the adoption of the merger agreement with Cisco Systems Inc. and Starent Networks Corp., dated Oct. 12, 2009, providing for the acquisition of Starent by Cisco.

As previously announced, under the terms of the merger agreement, Starent shareholders will receive $35.00 in cash for each outstanding Starent share, following the closing of the merger. The merger remains subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions.
