Tagg - The Pet Tracker plans expanded distribution, mobile options and offers new pricing structure

LAS VEGAS, USA: Snaptracs Inc., a Qualcomm company and developer of Tagg–The Pet Tracker, an advanced GPS pet tracking device and CES 2012 Design & Innovation Award Honoree in the Personal Electronics product category, starts the new year by announcing an agreement with Audiovox Electronic Corp. to distribute Tagg—The Pet Tracker to retail.

With rollout planned during the first quarter of 2012, Audiovox will market and distribute Tagg—The Pet Tracker to its large network of national big box retailers, regional retail distribution partners, as well as to pet supply retailers in the US, ultimately providing the millions of pet lovers throughout the nation more locations to purchase the pet tracking device.

Snaptracs has also announced new pricing structures and mobile capabilities for Tagg—The Pet Tracker to help pet parents stay in touch with their animal companions more seamlessly than ever. After assessing customer feedback, Tagg restructured its pricing to reduce the initial upfront cost.

The Tagg First Pet master kit is now available for $99.95, which includes one month of free service; service thereafter is $7.95 per month. Additionally, owners with more than one pet can now take advantage of Tagg's "Furry Family Plan." After purchasing a Tagg First Pet master kit, additional Add-a-Pet trackers are available for just $89.95, each with a monthly service fee of just 95 cents after the first month. A total of 10 trackers can be included per account in the family plan.

"We are constantly seeking feedback to help us improve the Tagg user experience and the response has been overwhelmingly positive," says Dave Vigil, president of Snaptracs. "Through our engagement with the pet community we learned that simple changes in the pricing structure and expanded sales channels would help to make Tagg even more accessible."

Tagg—The Pet Tracker, which has customers in all 50 states across the United States, also offers dog and cat owners the convenience of locating their pet right from their mobile phone, and this capability is now enhanced with the release of an iPhone app.

Available for iPhone and Android users, the Tagg app enables pet parents to quickly locate their pet on a map using the mobile app on their mobile phones, track their whereabouts and get driving directions to their current location right from their phone. Adding to the convenient and seamlessly integrated features, the app also locates nearby pet-related places such as vets, dog parks and pet stores.

In addition to its highly regarded CES Innovations & Design Honoree Award win, the device has also been awarded with a Men's Journal magazine "Gear of the Year" award and a CTIA "Hot for the Holidays" award in the Globetrotter category. These awards demonstrate the need in the marketplace for a GPS pet tracking solution that provides pet owners peace of mind about their pets' whereabouts.
