USA: ROAM, an Ingenico company and the leading mobile commerce platform provider, announced the release of the RP350x, the world’s first ever PCI-PTS and SRED-certified Chip and Sign mobile card reader.
The release of this EMV-approved device is part of ROAM’s broader strategy to provide merchants of all sizes, industries and geographical regions with innovative mobile point of sale (mPOS) solutions that comply with the latest global payment standards.
Today, approximately 1.5 billion EMV cards have been issued globally and 21.9 million POS terminals accept EMV cards. In the United States, card brands have set aggressive deadlines for the conversion to EMV chip–based cards and ROAM is ahead of the game by making sure the US market is ready for this transition.
The reader provides a low cost solution for enabling Chip and Sign payment acceptance, as the device is only a fraction of the cost of standard EMV-enabled terminals.
